Muhammad Ali Son Says He Was Again Questioned at Airport

Ali, son of the late boxing champion and humanitarian Muhammad Ali, said he considered the 25-minute delay Friday at Ronald Reagan Airport to be retaliatory. They did not ask about his religion.

The TSA claimed it does not have authority to detain passengers, but it only stopped Ali Jr.to verify his identity.

Though the U.S. Customs and Border Protection released a statement to the Washington Post asserting that the agency does not discriminate "based on religion, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation", it is notable that Ali and his mother had these experiences while Trump's travel bans were in effect.

For the second time in five weeks, Muhammad Ali Jr. was detained before being allowed to board a flight, Fox News reported.

Ali Jr told members of Congress that he felt like his "human rights" were violated at the hearing. Mancini insisted that the family was flagged for their "Arabic-sounding names" and that during Ali's questioning, officials repeatedly asked the questions "Are you Muslim?" and "Where did you get your name from?"

"Going to Washington obviously opened a can of worms at the Department of Homeland Security".

Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida said in a tweet that Ali Jr. had been religiously profiled.

Headstones toppled at Brooklyn Jewish cemetery in 4th incident in two weeks
Speaking at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, Cuomo says the incidents "violated every tenet of the New York State tradition". Jewish cemeteries were recently found damaged in Rochester, New York, Philadelphia, Pannesylvania, and near St.

After Ali remembered that he had his US passport and produced that, he was allowed to board his flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Wasserman Schultz said by telephone, adding that she was at the airport and heard about the incident from Ali's attorney.

His attorney, Chris Mancini, told BuzzFeed News that the son of the late, famed boxer was traveling back to Fort Lauderdale from Reagan National Airport Friday afternoon with his mother, Khalilah Camacho-Ali. "When Mr. Ali arrived at the checkpoint, his large jewelry alarmed the checkpoint scanner".

Ali was asked to present another form of identification aside from his state-issued card, even though that form of ID is commonly sufficient for US citizens to board a domestic flight.

The Democratic Congresswoman took to Twitter posting this photo saying, "Religiously profiling the son of "The Greatest" will not make us safe". "We criticize the Department of Homeland Security on-record, under oath, and, lo and behold, the next day when we try to fly, all of a sudden his ID is not acceptable".

She wrote: "On way home on DOMESTIC FLIGHT Muhammad Ali Jr. detained AGAIN..."

The new legislation touted by Ali was introduced in the Senate last month under the modified name "End Racial and Religious Profiling Act" by Sen.
