Chilly weekend ahead, snow possible Monday night

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Sussex County from 8 tonight until 10 a.m. on Friday and is forecasting between four and six inches of snow to fall across the county.

The National Weather Services says southwest CT could see up to 5 inches of snow starting early Friday morning.

Monday Night . A slight chance of rain and snow before 10pm, then a slight chance of snow between 10pm and midnight.

Precipitation should start as snow late Saturday morning or early afternoon. Today's high will be near 55.

"Some light snow can not be ruled out as far south as Little Rock and slightly south", according to the latest outlook.

Old Man Winter isn't done with us yet as colder air will be pushing in for the weekend. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. And, forecasters said, it is less likely that fast-moving systems can accumulate enough moisture to create much precipitation. Another area of concern will be around West Yellowstone and Cooke City with a good chance for periods of moderate snowfall through the weekend. An earlier report had forecast 3 to 5 inches. North wind 5 to 8 miles per hour. Rain and snow are both possible for Monday and Tuesday, when the high will be near 46 degrees. Winds could gust as high as 20 miles per hour.
