Hamilton says he is better prepared than ever

Rosberg announced his abrupt retirement a matter a days after sealing his maiden drivers' championship in November by finishing second at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

The new auto was showcased for the first time in a live event at Silverstone, conducted by 360-video across social media with team boss Toto Wolff and drivers Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in attendance. "I won't get to unleash that until next week", he said.

"I got in the auto today and I was like, "I can still drive", so that's a good thing". Obviously it is never going to be easy to beat him - he is a great driver, a three-time champion, but I don't have any special plan other than to keep doing what I am. "That's the exciting thing about life".

After four years at Williams, Bottas joined world champions Mercedes over the winter to replace Nico Rosberg, who retired following his championship victory last year.

"I don't feel Formula One is winning, and it hasn't been for a long time", Hamilton told BBC Radio 5 Live. I feel more complete as a driver. I won more races previous year than my teammate, I've won a couple of championships alongside him so I don't feel it makes any difference that he's either there or not in the sense to get it back from him.

"I am still competitive, still hungry and driving at my best".

Showdowns to shape the India-Aust series
Yes, that can sound like "A quick five wickets and we're back in the match". Jadeja bowling into the rough to the left-handers makes it so hard to play.

"I think it is possible".

"My engineers say it's going to be a lot harder to overtake this year", Hamilton added. Every now and then I have a thought of what I will do after Formula One.

" It is already unusual, being down in the garage and having someone other than Nico next to me".

"It was incredible to be at the factory the last week or so just to see the guys really starting to put this auto together", Hamilton said.

Hamilton revealed the victor of the contest via social media on Wednesday, and the new design features a heavy Brazilian influence - a tribute to his hero Ayrton Senna.

"I think Formula 1's future has the potential to be incredibly bright". With the new Formula One regulations stating that cars have to be wider, Hamilton said that he could already feel the difference. It will be interesting to see how the defending champs fare after the sudden departure of Rosberg, but Bottas should be more than capable of filling in some very big shoes.
