Tips pour in after suspect identified in Delphi double homicide

Tips pour in after suspect identified in Delphi double homicide

Police say a man seen in a photo captured as he walked along a northern in trail around the same time murdered teens Liberty German and Abigail Williams were in the region, is now the primary suspect in their killings.

On Sunday, police said he is a suspect, not just a person of interest. Police had previously said they considered him a person they wanted to speak with as part of the investigation.

Law enforcement officers obtained a search warrant for a home in Delphi Thursday night, but they found nothing of value that could pertain to the investigation, state police said.

"We talked all the time [about safety], it was something that I stressed, but I guess not enough", Patty said.

Sgt. Slocum further noted that because the man has failed to contact police after two photos of him were released to the public is another reason he is described as a suspect in the girls' murders. "He's going to be our main suspect at this time".

Canada Trade Agreement Wins European Parliament Green Light
Europe remains a preferred trade target for Canadians, coming second only to Canada's largest trading partner, the United States. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will arrive in Europe tomorrow with free trade at the top of his agenda.

Authorities originally released a photo of the man on Wednesday. "The photo appears to depict a white male wearing blue jeans, a blue coat/jacket, and a hoodie", a statement from the Indiana State Police read.

Abigail and Liberty were best friends, Patty told PEOPLE.

The girls' bodies were found Tuesday about a quarter-mile from an abandoned railroad bridge that's part of a trail system where the teens had planned to go hiking on during a day off school in Delphi, a community of about 3,000 people some 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis. "The girls haven't been in contact for about three hours".

"The people of Delphi are being very helpful", the spokesman said. "It's been wonderful. I wish there could have been a better outcome, but nevertheless, the support was overwhelming".
