Former NFL Player Trent Richardson arrested on domestic violence charges

Richardson was arrested in Hoover, Al. on a third-degree domestic violence charge on Thursday night, Alabama.com reports.

Police responded to multiple calls - one to 911 - reporting a possible domestic disturbance and yelling at a Hyatt Place Hotel near I-459 in Hoover, on the south end of the metro Birmingham area.

"Officers were able to make contact with an adult male and adult female who were involved in a domestic altercation", police said in the official release.

Police say the alleged victim had scratches and bruising on her face. She was treated on the scene. He's expected to be released when he posts the bond.

Richardson was arrested and transported to the Hoover City jail.

Hundreds of whales dead after mass stranding in New Zealand
Farewell Spit, about 150km west of the tourist town of Nelson, has witnessed at least nine mass beachings in the past decade. According to Project Jonah , "strandings are complex events and there are many reasons why dolphins and whales may strand".

Richardson was traded to the Colts in exchange for a first round pick in 2013 after the Colts lost RB Vick Ballard to a season ending injury.

He finished his career (we're sort of assuming he's finished) with 2,032 rushing yards, with 950 of those coming during his rookie season when he scored 11 of his 17 career touchdowns.

The argument between Richardson and the women began at a nearby Walmart before the altercation turned physical.

Normally domestic violence charges for National Football League athletes are a death sentence.
