Dan Carter admits to drink driving

The former All Black Dan Carter has arrived back in New Zealand and reiterated his error of judgement this week with his failed drink-drive test in Paris.

According to reports, the 34-year-old flyhalf - who starred for New Zealand when it won the 2015 Rugby World Cup - was stopped late on Wednesday night and found over the limit.

Carter's agent has been contacted by the Herald for comment.

Carter has apologised for the offence in Paris this week in which he was pulled over by police near the Champs-Elysees and charged after testing at twice the legal limit.

With the 34-year-old recovering from injury and his Paris rugby club Racing 92 on a break for the Six Nations worldwide competition, he has been allowed to return home with his family, according to 1 News.

Below-par Barcelona on the brink as PSG run riot
Emery has won just one of 23 games against Barcelona during coaching spells with Almería, Valencia, Spartak Moscow and Sevilla. PSG managed to see off any late surge from Luis Enrique's charges, as they take a very health four-goal lead to the Camp Nou .

Carter wrote on his official facebook page there were no excuses and he made a massive error of judgment and let down his club, fans and most importantly family.

Two French media outlets say Carter, the two-time World Cup victor, was caught by police drink-driving late on Wednesday night, near the Champs-Elysees.

"I will have to now let the police/court process run its course and face the consequences". He holds the record for the most points in Tests with 1598.

Carter began his second playing stint in France after the 2015 World Cup, but it hasn't been an entirely smooth ride.

Carter and fellow All Black Joe Rokocoko were cleared of any wrongdoing by an investigation by French rugby.
