Celtics guard Marcus Smart: 'I got punished for playing good D'

Celtics guard Marcus Smart: 'I got punished for playing good D'

And never was that more evident than in the waning seconds, after which Butler's confidence meter maxed out at "Peak Jimmy".

It seemed like Butler was holding the ball for an eternity when he made a decision to go with just under 3 seconds left though the Bulls were down one. Marcus Smart is athletic and feisty (the nicest possible way to say that his primary skills are better suited to strong safety than to shooting guard), and at 22 still is young enough that he may eventually develop into a risky two-way player, but for now he's a disastrously inefficient scorer. Butler signals that Celtics guard Marcus Smart hit his elbow on the shot attempt.

After time was placed back on the clock, Butler sank both, and the Bulls prevailed for a 104-103 win when Al Horford missed a tough shot from the corner.

"A foul's a foul", Butler said after the game. "He hit my elbow". "I don't care what nobody says". "Hopefully we can come back and build on these two wins". We wanted to end this on a high not.

"It's hard to see from where I was", Chicago coach Fred Hoiberg said. There was an option for a blur screen, but Butler declined it and took the game upon himself.

Butler led the Bulls, winners of two straight games to improve their mark to 28-29, with 29 points. In some ways, Chicago might be better when Butler is the lone ball handler on the floor.

On replay, it's extremely hard to tell whether or not Smart made contact with Butler's elbow. Then all of the sudden you start studying him and his ability to, I think, control the speed. "People are going to say 'Aw, he didn't foul him, ' but he did". Bradley, who is averaging 17.7 points, hasn't played in a month because of a sore right Achilles.

South Korea´s national news agency Yonhap quoted a Seoul government source as saying Kim Jong-Nam was killed on Monday. Fadzil said an ambulance picked up Jong-Nam from the airport. "Loyalists may have wanted to get rid of him", he said.

Boston point guard Isaiah Thomas had a lot to do with the outcome.

After the break, the Celtics were incapable of opening up the lead against Chicago (because the Bulls were playing at home on TNT), but the Bulls weren't exactly playing spectacularly either, despite a very entertaining Jerian Grant heat check. "It's what the great players want". Jimmy is no exception. "And it pays off more often than not". That ship may have sailed on the Celtics with the recent trade between Toronto and Orlando involving Serge Ibaka, who could have satisfied those needs, especially when going against Cleveland and the game's best player in LeBron James.

"Tonight we got lucky", said big man Taj Gibson. Philadelphia's loss ended its three-game winning streak. "Move forward. I thought we played a pretty good game and all things considered being six [games] in nine [nights], the travel and everything else, I was proud of the way we competed".

Like they have done this season, the Sixers held their own late in the game against the Celtics. "We can't be satisfied".

No matter who's dealt or brought in before the February 23 trade deadline, with Butler leading the way the Bulls will always feel as though they have a chance to win games.
