Lamborghini Recalls All 12 Venenos For Engine Fire Risk

The reason of recall being told by the vehicle maker is described as the potential of the engine to catch fire due to a problem in its fuel system.

About 1,500 Aventadors, which start at around $400,000, also are affected by the recall in the USA, according to a recall notice posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website Tuesday.

The recall covers the NZ$550,000 Aventador and the Veneno models which sold for between NZ$5.6 million to NZ$6.3m.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, America's auto safety regulator, issued a recall of Lamborghinis earlier this month because a faulty fuel system could potentially lead to a fire. All affected vehicles were produced between March 22, 2011 and December 5, 2016.

According to a recall notice posted on the USA agency National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) website, approximately 1,500 Aventadors in the US, whose price starts at about ₹ 2.67 crore ($400,000), are also included in this global recall by Lamborghini.

Owners are being asked to contact an authorized Lamborghini dealer or service point to have the evaporative emission control (EVAP) systems upgraded to the latest version.
