How Brexit Might Affect Your Phone Bill (And It's Not Good News)

He added: "The treasury committee has heard a good deal of evidence to suggest the failure to guarantee the rights of European Union nationals is now beginning to damage the economy".

Labour claimed the move as a "significant victory" in response to its repeated demands for a "meaningful" vote at the end of the two-year negotiation process.

Brexit minister David Jones earlier told MPs there will be a vote on the deal "before it is concluded" and it is meant to take place before the European Parliament debates and votes on the agreement.

So do I, and so does this House, which last week voted by a majority of 384 in support of the government triggering Article 50.

"The House has spoken and now is not the time to obstruct democratically expressed wishes of the British people", Mrs May told MPs.

But her stance came under fire from Andrew Tyrie, the Tory chairman of the treasury select committee, who said there was an "overwhelming ethical case" to make the pledge immediately, as European Union citizens in Britain should not become "bargaining chips".

Ten shadow ministers were among 47 Labour MPs who rejected party orders to back the bill at second reading last week while shadow home secretary Diane Abbott missed the crucial vote, citing illness.

Reckless President Trump Just Threatened To Invade Mexico
At a press conference with UK Prime Minister Theresa May last week, Trump also described his call with Pena Nieto as " friendly ". Both the US and Mexico governments deny the call was threatening, but it's still generating plenty of reaction.

Downing Street officials indicated that the Prime Minister was opposed to any amendment of the EU Bill.

Labour Party Brexit spokesman Keir Starmer says that it's a 'huge and very important concession, ' but is demanding more details.

Theresa May had already promised that MPs would get to vote on the terms of Brexit, but now the government has agreed to let that happen before the terms are finalised, i.e. before the European Parliament gets to vote.

And later in the debate, several Conservatives dismissed Jones's concession, saying it didn't give them the guarantees they needed.

Mr Jones said: "If there were no agreement at all, which is a scenario I think is extremely unlikely, then ultimately it would be falling back upon World Trade Organisation arrangements".

However, Corbyn has today made clear that the party will vote for the bill regardless.
