Virginia Beach Mom, Kids Missing After Blind Date

Virginia Beach Mom, Kids Missing After Blind Date

Monica Lamping, 29, and her children, 9-month-old Oria and 7-year-old Kai, were located Wednesday morning, Virginia Beach Police Officer Linda Kuehn told The Post. A fire broke out at Lamping's home early Sunday morning, killing two pets inside. The outside of the house on Sullivan Boulevard in Virginia Beach where Monica lives still smells like the remnants of a fire. While her dog and cat died, no person was home at the time of the fire. WTVR reports her phone is dead.

Meanwhile, police are trying to identify a person named Chad, according to the press release.

Lamping later canceled a baby-sitting date and has not been heard from since.

Family members told WAVY Tuesday that the Jeep had seen around 2 a.m. Sunday at the Downtown Tunnel heading west. Police confirmed that the Jeep was caught on camera traveling through the tunnel. The vehicle, a 2002 green Jeep Grand Cherokee with Virginia tag number XPU-6357, has not been seen since.

US To Investigate Obama's $221m Palestinian Aid
The funds had previously been budgeted to the Palestinian Authority but blocked by Congress. Kay Granger, R-Texas, who sits on the House Appropriations Committee, said.

"In regards to the residential fire, this investigation is being conducted by the Virginia Beach Fire Department", police said. He added there was no indication the fire was suspicious but that investigators were continuing to look into the fire. The last text Shell received from Lamping was at 10:30 p.m.

"She's never been out of communication with all of us for this length of time", Sheila Bogart, Lamping's mother, told The Pilot. "She had sent text messages back and forth", said Bogart to WVEC. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts should call the Virginia Beach Police Department at 757-385-5000. It remains unclear whether the fire is related to the young mother's disappearance, but relatives say they're distraught. No people were inside the home at the time.

Lamping reportedly went on a blind date on the night before the fire, according to her son's stepmother, Moira Lamping. The story is being picked up by media outlets across the country.Monica's ex-husband, Kevin Lamping, said police are aggressively pursuing leads in the case.
