The Coen brothers are making their first television series

Although this will signal the brother's directorial debut on TV, it is not the first time they have dipped their toes into the silver screen. This is to be a limited series, spanning only six episodes. Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle, Annapurna's president of television, will serve as executive producers.

Oscar-winning movie directors Joel and Ethan Coen are making the leap to the small screen, Variety reports. Welcome to TV, Coen brothers! In a statement to Variety, the Coen brothers described how they are looking forward to the partnership.

It's called The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and we know little else except that that is a such a Coens' title. The film, which has been described at times as a "modern western", stars Josh Brolin, Tommy Lee Jones, and Javier Bardem.

In 2014, FX networks premiered a TV version of their acclaimed 1996 independent film Fargo.

Democratic Congressman Keeps Hanging Painting Back Up That Depicts Cops as Pigs
The painting, which depicts a pig in a police uniform aiming a gun at a protester, is now hanging on a wall on Capitol Hill. Removing the painting amounts to stifling another person's perspective, not just a gratuitous insult against police.

In addition to writing and directing, they'll also produce through their Mike Zoss Productions label.

This will be the Coen's second notable foray into true-blue period Westerns, following their 2010 remake of True Grit.

It will be the brothers' first ever serious involvement with a television project. Imagine partners Brian Grazer and Ron Howard had planned to do something over both theatrical and television, but ended up sticking with one feature film, which Sony will release later this year. Will you be tuning in for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs?
