Giroud late show seals stunning Arsenal escape

Arsenal launched a stunning fightback in the final 20 minutes to come from three goals down and rescue a point from their Premier League clash with 10-man Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this evening.

The home side were three up against Arsene Wenger's side with 20 minutes left to play, only for the visitors to stage a late comeback and snatch a 3-3 draw.

Bournemouth quickly seized on Arsenal's malaise, Wilson denied a penalty when Petr Cech diverted the ball before upending the Cherries striker.

It was 2-0 five minutes later as Bournemouth exposed more poor play at the back from Arsenal.

But Bournemouth were in front after 16 minutes when Stanislas sprayed a fine pass from right to left to find Charlie Daniels in space, and he beat Hector Bellerin before placing a cool finish beyond Cech.

Wilson scored the spot-kick, his sixth of the season, despite appearing to stumble and fail to make the connection he wanted on the kick. Arsenal won their home match against the Cherries 3-1 and will need another result like that to keep up with Chelsea.

Arsenal were dealt a blow after 27 minutes when Francis Coquelin had to be substituted due to an injury.

Arsenal went close to pulling one back with a deflected Aaron Ramsey effort on the turn going wide.

A red card for Francis added to the hope and Arsenal gave it everything and continued to threaten and in the second of six injury time minutes the scorpion kick hero and late goal specialist Giroud heaed us level, nearly unbelievably.

Alex Iwobi missed a chance to pull one back before the break when he scuffed wide from Oxlade-Chamberlain's low cross before, with nearly the last kick of the first half, Stanislas whipped in a shot that bounced wide of Cech's near post.

Giroud fluffed a header to open the second half, but Arsenal were quickly on the back foot once again. Pjanic is said to have answered "with enthusiasm" despite the fact that the player only joined the Italian giants from Roma for a transfer fee of £25m in the summer a year ago.
