Trump's incoming spokesman questions Obama response to alleged Russian hacking

While some Republican senators are cheering President Barack Obama's sanctions in response to alleged Russian cyber-hacking, President-elect Donald Trump's incoming press secretary is not in agreement. "We don't think that frankly the steps that have been taken are enough of a deterrent", said Representative Adam Schiff, a California Democrat. "Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, but you have to think about that".

"Maybe it was; maybe it wasn't", Spicer said on ABC's "This Week". In addition, after Trump falsely claimed he was saving 1,100 jobs at a Carrier factory in IN, he used his account to attack Chuck Jones, a union boss at the Carrier plant who pointed out that many people were still losing their jobs, prompting many Trump supporters to send death threats to Jones and his family. Nothing, nothing was taken when millions of people had their private information, including information on security clearances that was shared. And a White House statement wasn't even issued. "Not one thing happened".

Spicer said there will still be engagement with the media, including press conferences, although "no decisions have been made" about whether they would continue to take the current form of daily televised briefings.

According to Fox News, Obama has maintained that the investigation into the hacking is not politically motivated.

Suggesting Obama "failed" at establishing "a relationship with Russia", Spicer said, "This president [Trump] is going to have a relationship with Russia and understand that it's in America's interest to have a relationship with Russia when they don't pose a threat to our national economic interests".

Moscow's alleged hacking efforts in favor of the NY billionaire led to expulsion of 35 Russian diplomatic personnel and the closure of Russia's estates in Maryland and NY by the administration of President Barack Obama.

He didn't specify which executive actions President-elect Trump will repeal.

Russian diplomats who were expelled by Obama left Washington on Sunday, Russian news agencies reported, citing Russia's embassy.
