Honda Recalls 634000 Odyssey Minivans for Second-Row Seat Problems

There will be two instances of recalls, one for about 634,000 Odyssey minivans for model year 2011-2016.

The automaker is recalling the cars because the second-row seats may not lock in the event of a crash. Sometimes when the seats are tilted forward to allow access to the rows behind them they don't lock back into place properly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a statement said the flaw "increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant during a crash". However, the company says it can't do that right away, due to the "large volume of new parts" needed for the repairs. The recall will affect 641,302 units of Honda Odyssey. (The parts to fix the problem won't be available until spring.) Additional second-row seat slide springs and brackets will be installed in affected minivans, at no charge.

Honda said that due to the large volume of parts needed to fix all affected units, the fix will not be available until the spring. In the same year, Honda also recalled almost 3,000 units after the windows in the passenger cabin of affected vehicles were found to have the tendency to shatter, increasing risk of injury.

Drones would then fly around the airship, pick up the items needed for delivery, and deliver those items to the customer's home. The filing was unearthed CB Insight analyst Zoe Leavitt who described the structure as the " Death Star of ecommerce ".

The recalled 2011-2016 Odyssey minivans were built August 17, 2010, to October 1, 2015.

No reported injuries have been linked to the issue, which was discovered in internal-quality checks, Honda said.

Honda will begin notifying affected Odyssey owners in mid-February and again when parts become available. If you own an Odyssey manufactured between the dates given above, expect Honda to be in touch. From there, an authorized Honda dealer will inspect the latch mechanism and adjust it (if needed, ) to ensure proper operation.
